Celebrate Life

"The more you praise and celebrate your life, the most there is in life to celebrate". I can't help but find every excuse to be creative - and lucky for me, I roll with a similar crowd. It was no surprise that we all wanted to bring our "pinterest dreams" to life for a very special friends birthday. It was one of those mornings from a dream - sharing laughs, great company, and a picture perfect view. Now, real question is.. how can we make this happen every day? :p

New Twist | Classic Design

With our obvious love of hair accessories, its only right that we put a new twist on this classic summer staple. Here are some of our favorite head scarf stylings that keep us dreaming of longer days, freckles, and suns kissed skin.

{Purpose}

In a world of fast fashion and knock offs, it is one of the most refreshing things to see a brand doing it right. These are the stories that truly inspire us and continue to challenge us to work toward the bigger picture. In our minds, the most successful brands are the ones where a passion and a purpose intersect to create something beautiful. Thank you everyone who has been such a huge part of our growth, we constantly strive to find meaning behind everything we do and continue to work toward a more purposeful brand - xo

September = 50%

Hello September. We have been longing for your arrival. This is officially the FIRST month we will be donating 50% of all purchases to a charity/volunteer organization. We are so excited about this big step for our brand and so thrilled to partner with some amazing groups and communities.

It was never a question of IF we should be donating a percentage of sales from HxD, it was just a matter of how. So, we asked the first question: what does a charitable brand really look like to us? Obviously we are not TOMS, and donating on a 1-to-1 platform isn’t always the best solution. So we came up with a model that worked for our brand.

Every 3 months, we will be sharing the story behind a different charity/volunteer group that we are partnering with; 50% of all sales from that month will be donated to this cause. We wanted to integrate the concept of volunteer work as we feel this is equally as important as a monetary donation. The goal is that at the end of each month, we will be announcing the charity/volunteer groups we are partnering with as well as the $ amount donated. We will be extending the invite to all of you to join us in any volunteer opportunities and look forward to growing our community.

We are grateful for all of the love and support you've shown us thus far along our journey. We can't wait to start this new chapter in our story and are thrilled to share it with all of our fellow turbanistas.

Maker's Market

Well, our FIRST official offline appearance was a success! It was so inspiring to meet other like-minded artists as well as gain new perspective on what it means to be a 'maker'. Events like this truly inspire me to continue creating and enjoy the ride. HUGE shout out to The 1:1 Movement for hosting the event and being such a rad organization.

For those who don't know, The 1 : 1 Movement is an organization focused on raising awareness and making change on the issues of sustainability. They work to empower community members to realize the environmental, economic, and health benefits of making sustainable minded decisions. They have created a  "Bottom Up, Top Down" approach as a method in which they feel most effectively brings about change through a combination of the people working toward their goals, and big business and government working down to meet them there.

As a brand, we try and strive for the most sustainable business model as we grow. Small steps like using the scrap fabric as packaging, a zero waste method, green printing of materials, etc. are all ways we can make a difference.

Thanks for including us in Americas Finest Film Fest, it was a great experience and loads of fun!
